Baptism is the gateway into the spiritual life. Through it we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God. We become members of the Body of Christ, are incorporated into the Church, and made sharers in its mission.

children older than six and younger than seventeen need to complete a period of religious instruction before being baptized.

Baptism for Adults
Adults seeking baptism or inquiring about becoming a Catholic Christian enter into a program called R.C.I.A.(Rite of Christian Iniation of Adults).
This is an ancient program going back to the early church.
